Community Needs and Prayer Requests

Prayer is a part of our community wherever you find us. Sunday morning services, small groups... wherever.

You are encouraged to join our closed group: OVC PRAY on Facebook and post your prayer request there on your own behalf or on behalf of someone you know has a need.

Please also know that you can generally ask for prayer from anyone in our church family and they would be more than happy to do so.

Meal Train

We use an online tool called the “Meal Train” to help organize meals for folks in our community who could use support in this way. We all go through challenging or transitional times in our lives and this is a great, practical way that we can serve one another!

If you would like to receive support, or get involved with the meal train please contact us (info@OVCchurch.ca).

Safe Families

When a crisis strikes, many of us  rely on relatives and friends for support. But for some parents, this is not an option. Safe Families seeks to come alongside parents in crisis as they get back on their feet. Our family of volunteers provide a loving, temporary home for children while their parents deal with their crises.

Don and Elizabeth Kantel, Developing World Partnerships

Don and Elizabeth have developed what is called the “Pemba model” of village transformation. It is an incredible, wholistic approach to advancing the kingdom of God including church planting, the provision of clean water, agricultural development and much more! We have been honoured to partner with their work in Mozambique for many years.

Compassion Canada

Charity in Kenya

Our church partners with Compassion Canada for occasional events, and a number of members in our congregation sponsor children through Compassion.

OVC has also been sponsoring a child through Compassion for over a decade. Our current sponsor child is named Charity, and she lives in Kenya.

To learn more about her, we invite you to read her profile. You can also view Charity's latest letter here.

Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan's Purse

Every year around Christmas time, we participate in Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan's Purse is an international aid organization that organizes this annual gift-giving mission. Members of the church purchase gifts to fill shoeboxes for children in need around the world. These gifts are delivered with the gospel message, and help to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way.
